Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls III latest news
The Dark Souls franchise has now sold over 13 million copies worldwide, with the latest entry already at 3 million. It is really a fast-selling game. This is one of random interesting facts.
A series famed for its difficulty and its ruthless demands on players’ time and patience, is exactly the opposite of what you’d expect from a successful mainstream video game. But Dark Souls is different.

Bandai Namco has now shipped 13 million copies of the three games so far, according to a Japanese press release translated by Gematsu. It is also interesting to check out for elephant facts.
Over 3 million of those sales are for Dark Souls III, which has reached that milestone quicker than any of the previous games. That breaks down to half a million in Asia, 1 million in Europe, and 1.5 million in North America.
Fans usually consider sister titles Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne as part of the Souls series, but they’re published by Sony and so are not included in Bandai Namco’s figures. But if they are added to the total then all five Souls games have sold around 17 million copies in all.
Dark Souls III has been described as the end of the series, but developer From Software has implied they will continue to make other similarly themed games in the future.
Rumours suggest a science fiction setting might be being considered, and comments from series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki seem to reinforce that.
It’s not clear when the next game will be revealed, but before that there’s still two DLC expansions for Dark Souls III to look forward to.
